FAQ

Why did we create Angel Horses Inc.?

The horses who inspired the creation of Angel Horses retirement sanctuary have excelled in taking care of many people; children who have been abused, some who live with cancer or other serious illnesses, adults who are dealing with life altering accidents or illness and some people who may just need encouragement.

We are a group of individuals dedicated to ensuring that these horses receive the love and care that they so richly deserve. The horses continue to be involved in the teaching and enrichment of the lives of many people.

Do you adopt out, sell, or rehome horses?

Never.  These special horses receive nurturing, companionship, and love for the rest of their days.

Do you also offer boarding for other horses?

No.

Can I ride?

The horses at Angel Horses are retired.  However, certain horses may need the exercise which riding provides, and in those cases, only our volunteers with expert riding experience are involved.

Where can I learn more about each of the horses currently at Angel Horses?

Our website, (www.angelhorses.org) provides a short history of each horse in our care.

I know someone who has a horse they want to retire.  Can you help?

Sadly, there are more horses in need than there are places and resources that can help.  Angel Horses focusses on horses who have been teachers and healers in the therapeutic world.  Our Board of Directors approves each horse placed at Angel Horses.

Are there any paid positions at Angel Horses Inc.?

No.  Angel Horses is a strictly volunteer organization.  Throughout our 20-year history, Angel Horses has never paid a salary.

Does Angel Horses own, lease or rent the property and barn at 12 Knollwood Lane?

None of the above.  The property and barns have always been provided by Pam & Steve Traun, at no cost to Angel Horses Inc.

How long has Angel Horses been around?

Angel Horses originated in 2004.  In 2006, Pam & Steve purchased the land and built the facility you see today.

Is Angel Horses open to the public?

Angel Horses Inc. is a privately owned working farm and is open to visitors by appointment only.

If I donate to Angel Horses, is my donation tax deductible?

Angel Horses Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.  Our EIN is 010853010.  Please check with your tax advisor.
